Baptism
By accepting the baptism of John, Jesus stood in solidarity with all Israel, and ultimately all humankind, under God's judgement. To be baptised is to accept that judgement, just as in the Supper, but this time more radically, to be killed. Colin Gunton, The Christian Faith (p145)
